Federal and State Offices

The filing period for state and federal offices is February 24 through March 14.

A candidate list will be available on this webpage after the filing period begins. It will be updated daily during the candidate filing period.

County Offices

The filing period for county offices is March 3 through March 26. Contact your county auditor for lists of county candidates.

Voter Pre-Registration Deadline

Saturday, May 24 - 5 p.m.

Voters may use election day registration procedures to register to vote after the pre-registration deadline.


Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot by Mail

Friday, May 30 - 5 p.m.

Polling Place Hours and Locations

The polls will be open statewide from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Closed Primary

Voters must be registered voters of either the Democratic or Republican Party to participate in the primary election. Voters can change their party affiliation anytime before election day or at their polling place on election day.

Saturday, April 19 Absentee ballots for military and overseas voters must be mailed by today.
Regular absentee ballots for domestic voters must be mailed as soon as they are ready.
Thursday, April 24 First day to vote in-person by absentee ballot at county auditor's office
Monday, May 19 Worry-free postmark deadline for mail-in voter registration forms

Polls open 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. statewide
Monday, June 9 - noon Deadline for mailed absentee ballots to be received by county auditor's office
Mailed absentee ballots must also be postmarked on Monday, June 2 or earlier
