State Senate District 12 - 12/30/2014 Special Election

On Monday, December 1, Governor Branstad called for a special election for State Senate District 12 due to the resignation of State Senator Joni Ernst. State Senate District 12 includes all of Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Ringgold and Taylor counties. A map of the district is available on the Legislature's website.

Monday, December 29 Last day to vote in-person by absentee ballot at county auditor's office

Absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date and received by the time of the county canvass on Friday, January 2, to be considered on time to be counted.
Tuesday, December 30 Election Day
Polls open 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Friday, January 2 Deadline for absentee ballot to be returned. Ballots must be received by the time established for the canvass by the county boards of supervisors.

Absentee ballot must also be postmarked on Monday, December 29, or earlier

County canvass of votes may occur anytime on this date.
Mid-January State canvass of votes must be complete
