The Secretary of State's Office requested videos from each presidential hopeful with the candidates tailoring their message specifically toward Iowa high school students. The videos will be posted on the "Caucus 101" website over the next two weeks.

"One of my main goals as Iowa's Commissioner of Elections is to increase voter participation in the state. One way to accomplish is by getting young people interested in the process. That is why the "Caucus 101" curriculum is an important program that I hope students, teachers and civics groups across the state will utilize," said Secretary of State Paul Pate.

"Caucus 101" is a curriculum developed by Secretary of State Paul Pate, designed for Iowa high school students. The course is aimed at involving students, parents and the community in civic engagement while educating them about Iowa's unique role in the political process.

The curriculum, written by Iowa teachers for Iowa teachers, is available for anyone to use and can be downloaded at www.Caucus101.com. This non-partisan, seven-step course has the approval of the Iowa Democratic Party, the Republican Party of Iowa and the Iowa Council for the Social Studies.
