Answer: No. Our office does not file or maintain tax information, and it is not required for reinstatement. Legislation used to require we gather EIN's for business, but as of July 1, 2024 that is no longer a requirement.

Answer: To reinstate, you only need to submit the two most recent biennial reports. For example, if you are an LLC reinstating in 2024 and you have been dissolved since 2011, you will only need to include the 2021 and 2023 reports to be reinstated. You do not need to file all of the reports dating back to 2011.

Answer: No. If you registered a foreign entity (anything originating outside of the state of Iowa), you will need to register your company anew with our office, so it will be assigned a new business number. The previous record will always be available to view for your convenience, but, going forward, the business will be authorized to do business in Iowa under the new registration.
