DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is partnering with the Iowa Wild hockey team to promote being #VoterReady ahead of the June 7 primary election and help fans register to vote during the games on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 in Des Moines.
Staff from the Secretary of State’s Office will be on hand to help register fans to vote and answer questions about upcoming elections. Secretary Pate will be dropping the puck ahead Friday’s game.
“This is a great opportunity to team-up and promote civic engagement, voter registration and the upcoming June 7 primary in a nonpartisan way,” Secretary Pate said. “This partnership will ensure hockey fans are voter ready for the upcoming June 7 primary election.”
The Secretary of State’s Office will have voter registration forms and iPads for online registration available inside the main concourse for both Friday and Saturday’s games. Additionally, free #BeAVoter trading cards featuring Iowa Wild mascot Crash will be given away.
“We're excited to once again partner with the Iowa Secretary of State's Office to promote the importance of voting and provide easy access for those at the game to register,” said Allie Brown, vice president of business operations for the Iowa Wild. “The Iowa Wild is grateful to provide an opportunity for our fans to take part in our democratic process.”
