Deadline for Candidate Filing in HD Special Election is Oct. 9
DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate has announced the candidates' filing deadline and election calendar for the House District 5 special election. Governor Branstad set the special election for November 3, 2015. The deadline for candidates to file is Friday, October 9 at 5 pm.
The seat became vacant due to the resignation of Rep. Chuck Soderberg. House District 5 is comprised of Plymouth and a portion of Woodbury counties. The district includes the communities of Akron, Hinton, Le Mars, Lawton, Moville, and Pierson.
