DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate conducted an informal "Favorite Past President" straw poll at the Republican Party of Iowa's Growth and Opportunity Party on Saturday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Ronald Reagan won, handily. The former Iowa resident and 40th U.S. President picked up 41% of the votes.

The straw poll was conducted at Secretary Pate's booth at the event. Pate used the booth to register voters, promote the Caucus 101 curriculum, the Safe at Home program, and to engage attendees in the electoral process. Secretary Pate's Office has also reached out to the Iowa Democratic Party to help with voter registration drives at their events.
