Filing period for state and federal candidates concludes; Updated candidate list
DES MOINES – The filing period for state and federal candidates to qualify for the November 2016 general election ballot in Iowa concluded at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 19.
The list of candidates whose paperwork was submitted and received by the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office can be accessed at this link: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/2016/general/generalcandidatelist2016.pdf
There are 10 candidates who filed for President and five candidates that filed for the U.S. Senate race.
The deadline to file written objections to nomination papers with the Iowa Secretary of State is next Friday, August 26 at 5 p.m.
