MEDIA ADVISORY: Secretary Pate to announce major voter registration initiative in honor of women’s suffrage at State Capitol news conference Tuesday
DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate will announce a significant new voter registration initiative geared toward Iowa high school students during a news conference Tuesday at the Iowa State Capitol. The drive will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, and will recognize the contributions of Iowan Carrie Chapman Catt, a national leader in women’s suffrage.
