MEDIA RELEASE: Secretary Pate partners with IN the BAG to promote resources available for survivors of violence
DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is working with IN the BAG Corporate Cuisine to promote resources available for survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Throughout February, IN the BAG customers will see an informational brochure about Iowa’s Safe at Home program and Dorothy’s House included in their lunch bag. The initiatives will also be featured in the Charity of the Month section of IN the BAG’s newsletter.
Safe at Home is an address confidentiality program administered by the Secretary of State’s Office. Dorothy’s House is a Des Moines-based organization that helps girls and teens whose lives have been disrupted by sex trafficking and exploitation.
“I want to thank IN the BAG for helping us spread the word about Safe at Home and Dorothy’s House,” Secretary Pate said. “Unfortunately, there are a lot of Iowans who can benefit from these programs but aren’t aware that help is available. This effort will hopefully assist people who are looking for a way out of an abusive situation.”
IN the BAG has been in business for 26 years and provides catered meals and timely delivery to the Des Moines metro area. As a family-oriented, local business, they pick a local charity each month to promote.
