MEDIA RELEASE: Secretary Pate partners with Iowa Economic Development Authority to direct small businesses to resources

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate and the Iowa Economic Development Authority are working together to help small businesses succeed. Every new business that registers with the Secretary of State’s Office is directed to resources available for Iowa entrepreneurs.

Beginning this month, whenever a new business completes its registration process with the state, the company will receive an email or flyer with its registration materials, directing them to IASourceLink.com. IASourceLink is a free online resource offered through a partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Business Growth and Innovation. It connects entrepreneurs and small businesses to more than 360 resource providers across Iowa.

“By pointing small business owners directly to online resources, we’re giving them the tools to be successful in our state,” Secretary Pate said. “This partnership will be great for small businesses and great for Iowa’s economy. We’re pleased to work with the Iowa Economic Development Authority on this important venture.”

Approximately 24,000 new business entities register with the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office each year.
