MEDIA RELEASE: Secretary Pate joins NASS in #TrustedInfo2022 voter education effort

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate joins fellow members of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) in the #TrustedInfo2022 education effort to encourage citizens to look to their state and local election officials as the trusted sources of information for the 2022 elections.

“Election officials are referees. We don’t wear team jerseys in the administration of elections. My office is dedicated to running clean, smooth elections and it’s more important than ever to remind Iowans that election officials are the trusted sources for election information,” Secretary Pate said.

The nation's Chief Election Officials, along with local election officials are continuously working to inform Americans about the elections process, including voter registration, state election laws, polling place locations, post-election processes and much more.

Secretary Pate’s office has valuable information, resources, and accessible tools for those interested in learning more about elections at VoterReady.Iowa.gov. If you have questions or see incorrect election information, please contact us at sos@sos.iowa.gov.

In addition to supporting #TrustedInfo2022, Secretary Pate’s office is preparing for 2022 by finalizing redistricting and reprecincting for cities and counties and encouraging Iowans to keep their voter registration information current.

Iowans can also become more involved in the elections process by becoming a poll worker. You can learn more here PollWorker.Iowa.gov.
